Hi.
Tomorrow I am going to quit sugar for 21 days.
Partly because I am running a healthy living campaign for my university course, but mostly because I am taking the opportunity to become healthier. I have three children, and ever since having those children I have been a larger size. Part of that is totally normal and expected, and part of that has been me eating far too many potatoes and cakes. By the way quitting potatoes might be the hardest part of this challenge. They are my favourite.
Since the holiday season began, which for our part-American family begins in November with Thanksgiving, I have been throwing caution to the wind, and enjoying all the glorious food that has come along. Such as the amazing four-pie-pudding that we enjoyed at thanksgiving - it's pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, apple pie and key lime pie. Seriously. I have some good pie-making friends.

But I have slowly noticed the pounds creeping back on, so the time has come to get my healthy eating back on. The New Year is always a good time to chose to start some crazy challenge, and 21 days seems achievable. So, here we go, tomorrow I'll post more about the rules and what foods I am giving up. But for, now, I'm just going to go have one last gin + tonic.
